Superior Eyewear in Foul Weather

In low light and foul weather conditions, your visual acuity drops significantly. Nolo262® is ready to help!

A high-contrast lens can help you better deal with potentially dangerous vision caused by foul weather, low light conditions, and eye fatigue.  When you’re choosing a pair for those low-light conditions, having one that has a high visual light transmission (VLT) will work wonders.

What Is Nolo262®?

According to a study conducted by weatherbase.com, the average US city only has 103 “sunny days” throughout the year leaving 262 days that are less than “sunny”. The other 262 days of the year still have UV light attacking your eyes from all sides. As you deal with poor lighting conditions caused by rain, snow, fog, dusk, dawn, etc., you will experience a noticeable drop in your visual acuity.

Having a pair of glasses that block these harmful UV rays, improve your visual acuity, and look good while doing so is more important than ever. Nolo262® aims to help make everything from driving, to outdoor sports, and everything in between on those other 262 days as enjoyable an experience as possible.

Premium Eyewear for
Low Light Conditions

When you get a set of lenses from Nolo262®, you’re getting a pair that has passed the ANSI z80.3 test for impact resistance and optical clarity. Made from a durable polycarbonate, these lenses are six times lighter and ten times stronger than traditional glass.

Defining Visual Light Transmission

For people that didn’t pay attention in science class or have been out of the classroom for some time, visual light transmission is the percentage of sunlight that passes through a lens and hits your eyes. Clear lenses allow 100% of the light through, while a blacked out lens does not allow any light through. Darker lenses naturally have a lower VLT. Your average sunglasses have a combination of gray, green, and brown lenses that have a VLT around 10-20%, meaning they block out the majority of light that you see.

However, in low light conditions, you want more light to pass through your lens while blocking UV light. You want a lens with a higher VLT — above 50% — that can help improve visual acuity in these situations. These lenses also allow good light in to increase your depth perception and contrast enhancement. Nolo262® offers Yellow lenses (80% VLT), Orange lenses (70% VLT), and Red lenses (50% VLT) so you can have an option for every possible low light condition.

Increased UV Protection

For those looking for additional benefits from their high contrast lenses, one of the most important ones provided by Nolo262® comes from UV protection. It doesn’t matter if the sun shines brightly or if it’s a torrential downpour; we are constantly bombarded with UV light from every single day. These rays can prove harmful through continuous exposure and can damage your eyes.

Our specialty lens material and colors help protect your eyes from these harmful rays and help ensure your visual acuity remains high even in the worst visual driving conditions. By developing these eyeglasses, we aim to make wearing a high contrast lens while driving as natural as turning the ignition switch.

Available Colors and Frame Styles

No matter what style you prefer, finding a high contrast lens that meets your needs and helps make your next drive in foul weather an easier proposition, Nolo262® has you covered. We proudly offer three high-contrast lenses. They are all designed to increase visual acuity and depth perception in low-light conditions. Additionally, all Nolo262® lenses block 100% of the harmful UVA and UVB light.

With frameless and full-frame options in black and tortoise with lenses in Yellow, Orange, and Rose, you can find an option that’s right for you. We know having a clear field of vision is vital to safe driving conditions. We have worked tirelessly to ensure these frames fit a wide range of faces and help improve visual acuity in low light situations.

Durable and Flexible Frames

Our Nolo262® features a rugged thermoplastic polymer frame material. This ensures your glasses are incredibly durable yet flexible enough to adjust to various fit sizes comfortably.
